Wall art is one of my favourite things to buy! It’s so easy to change the look of a room just by adding or updating prints and pictures.
The vintage map above the fireplace in my living room was the first thing I bought, and the look of the room really came from this. I chose the grey wall colour to make the map stand out, and added gold accessories throughout the room to match the frame. As soon as I put the map on the wall, the room just seemed to come together.
Same story for the dining room, this quirky image by artist Kerry Eggleton was chosen way before the paint or any of the furniture. It was fun and individual – exactly what I wanted from my new, open-plan and sociable kitchen-diner.

Now I’m on the hunt for some artwork for my newly decorated bedroom. I have a few small, typographic prints on my mantlepiece but think I need a larger, statement print for above my bed – as it’s currently looking rather bare. Very bare, in fact. (Yes, I know – I’m not meant to be shopping this month – but the room just looks so unfinished at the moment!)
The room is a tad more colourful than I had originally planned (I kinda went crazy with a patterned rug and brightly coloured throw!) so I thought I’d tone it down a bit with a large but simple, black and white print above the bed.
I’m clearly not capable of toning it down though as I have fallen in love with this colourful print from The Poster Club (which you would have seen on my wish list this week). If I decide it’s not right for my bedroom I’m determined to use this somewhere in my home, I just love it!

The Poster Club is the one of the best sites I’ve come across for up-to-date, on trend artwork. If you’re an Instagram obsessive like me, you’ll recognise a lot of their prints – I’ve picked just a few of my favourites below.
Another great shop is Society 6 – they have a such a huge range you’re bound to find something you love on this site. I currently have these three sat in my basket…aren’t they pretty??
I can’t talk about prints without mentioning Etsy – it’s the best place to pick up a bargain and you can even buy digital files usually for less than a fiver which you can download and print yourself.
One of my favourite Etsy shops is Sweet Pea Paperie, which I am also lucky enough to be a Brand Rep for – just check out this lovely flamingo print!

Where do you shop for art? Do you have a particular style that you stick to or do you mix it up? And what do you think I should go for in my new bedroom, shall I stick to monochrome or embrace the colour?
I recently discovered the EBay shop Oldprintery. They sell some really great wall hangings.
P.s I love your home.

Love your selection of prints, I would go with monochrome and a little colour added in too. I normally have my own artwork in my house but also want something different, will definitely be creating palm tree art for my art shop when I get the time! Love your blog, I need to get back into posting on my interior blog too! x

That sounds like a good compromise Asma – monochrome with a bit of colour! Love the idea of displaying your own artwork ! How fab! And thank you lovely, that’s so sweet of you to say!! xxx

I love that map print!
I’ve actually found a lot of artwork for my son’s nursery gallery wall for free online. It just takes a lot of time and patience to search Pinterest but people offer great freebies on blogs, particularly in the US. All you need is some decent card and a printer and you’re done! I’ve even found some lovely artwork that you can personalise with names and/or letters. X

I’ve been lusting after your Fox print and trying to find a simular one for ages! Slightly outside of my budget though! I just love your dining room, I’ve just found a Blaeu wall map which is perfect for my colour scheme which is similar to yours. I love adding to it when I find the perfect accessories!! Thanks for sharing xx
