My Easter Home

Easter2I have absolutely loved seeing how many people have decorated their homes for Easter this year! This is my first Easter on Instagram, I only joined last Summer (I know, how behind the times was I?!) and I am just so pleased to see that I’m not the only one who fills their house with pretty pastels this time of year!

A few of you have asked me to share some pictures and details of where I bought my decorations from, so here goes…

The thing I have been asked most about is my AstroTurf runner! It really was as simple as just buying a cheap piece of artificial grass on eBay and cutting it down to size. However, I’ve since learnt that they actually sell these on Not on the High Street, but my way was half the price! Plus you’ll get enough to make at least three runners from the piece I bought on eBay so even cheaper if you buy with a couple of friends and share :) (Two of my friends will be getting grass runners as part of their Easter presents this year!)

The collection of glass vases and bowls were all eBay finds. I bought them to use on my sweetie table at our wedding and now they have become part of my Easter decorations! The eggs were either from NOTHS or John Lewis and cute little chicks (which really remind me of making and decorating Easter treats with my mum when I was a kid!) were just from Tesco.

I have also been asked a lot about my Easter wreath which I bought from John Lewis several years ago. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available anymore but Not on the High Street have lots of lovely alternatives.

The tassel garland of course was made by me (check out the tutorial if you fancy having a go yourself). I’m really pleased with the artificial blossom I bought (again!) from NOTHS – I love it so much I think I am going to keep it up all year in my bedroom. It’s just perfect for this vase which I’ve been struggling to find something for until now. And how cute are these little egg candles which my mum found in Laura Ashley and knew I would love!

I always find TK Maxx good for decorations, and try to pop in a few times in the build up to Easter or Christmas. It can be a little hit or miss but occasionally you get lucky and find some bargains! This cute little duck was from there a few years back. It’s had to have quite a few repairs as the dog took quite a liking to it and managed to chew off several bits but I’ve done my best to piece it back together! The artificial nests were from Hobbycraft and clip on birds from (you guessed it!) NOTHS!

My Easter tree is made up from “twigs” that I bought from Ikea a while back – I decided to spray them white this year and have just added a few decorative hanging eggs.

Easter4

I’ve kept all of my decorations in one room really but have added just a few little bits in my living room room. I love these paper fans which I picked up in my new favourite store, Tiger. They had so many lovely Easter bits, I don’t know how I managed to stop at just these! I’ve hung a few on my fireplace and some on my radiator cover too. This room (and the whole house too really) will be filled with daffodils, tulips and hyacinths too this weekend! Because it just wouldn’t be Easter without them would it :)

I love, love, love seeing all your decorations so please do tag me in your pictures #easteroveratkates
