When one of my lovely readers contacted me asking me to do a post on macramé I got very excited! I have a bit of an obsession with it you see, and with one macramé genius in particular – Fanny Zedenius, otherwise known as Createaholic.
A while ago I started seeing all these beautiful woven wall hangings everywhere on Instagram. I didn’t know it was called macramé back then…All I knew was that I needed one in my life. A LOT of searching eventually led me to the super talented Createaholic’s lovely Instagram page.
It was tough to choose one from her amazing selection, but in the end I went for this beauty. As it turned out, I was the first person to order this style and so she only went and named it after me! That’s right, you can buy the ‘Kate‘!! Just because she’s the cutest Fanny names her works of art after the first person to order them – isn’t that adorable?
Fanny is constantly adding to her range and always seems to be coming up with new ideas. I’m completely smitten with these large styles that are suspended from a branch. Wouldn’t they just be the perfect addition to a romantic, bohemian style bedroom?
She is one talented lady. Imagine being able to make these? I don’t think I would ever do anything else! My house would be as full of them as hers is :)
And if I wasn’t enough of a fan already she recently sold these beautiful colourful plant hangers through Designhjälpen – an incredible service where desingers contribute items that are sold though their Instagram page with all profits going to the various charities they work with. The money from her plant hangers went to help the UN Women’s work in refugee camps, supporting women who have fled the war in Syria. What an incredibly worthy cause and a lovely thing to do!
