I’m sure it comes as no surprise to you that I’m excited about getting my garden styled up for the season! Last summer we were in the middle of kitchen/dining room/lounge renovations and so the garden didn’t get a look in. But this year, I have no other projects on the go – so the garden is going to get my full attention!
We have the furniture already, a super comfy rattan corner sofa which I bought in the January sale the day we moved in (before I’d even bought our actual sofas for the living room!) And a small mosaic table and chairs in the opposite corner. I would absolutely LOVE a hammock or some sort of hanging chair but my garden is too small, and lacking in trees to hang anything from! (Another thing added to the ‘next house must-haves’ list!) I’ve ordered a selection of plants to replace those that didn’t make it through the Winter…and a Magnolia tree because…well because I’ve always wanted one.
But what I’m really excited about is accessorising!
If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen my excitement over my new gnome cushion. Some may call him tacky. I, myself, call him FUN! And isn’t that what a garden should be? Gardens are for parties, games, socialising – they absolutely should be a fun space. While I won’t go quite as far as adding an actual gnome to the garden, I am thinking of adding these fab candles…what do you think? A step too far??
If you’re not feeling the gnome love, here are a few other themes you may consider for your garden this Summer – from the traditional to the slightly more eclectic!
What do we think, what’s your fave garden look? Would love to see your outdoor spaces so tag me in your pics on Insta – #gardensoveratkates
