I don’t know about you, but I was desperate to get my Christmas decs down pretty much as soon as December was over. For some reason they just look messy once Christmas Day is done – don’t you think? However, since losing the tree I am feeling like my house is seriously lacking in something, and I’m pretty sure that something is greenery!
So it’s really quite fitting that Pantone chose this very shade as their 2017 Colour of the Year. What a great excuse to add some green back into our lives and get us ready for Spring. I’ve teamed up with Wayfair to show you the best ways of adding this trend into your homes.
One of the most affordbale, and not to mention easiest ways of introducing a new trend into your home is with some new artwork. I love a gallery wall in my home and you’d be amazed at the difference it can make to the room just by switching up a few of the prints of adding a couple of new frames. Why not try adding a couple of these fab botanical prints to an existing gallery wall or even creating a new one especially to house them?
Another really quick and easy way to change up the decor in your home is by swapping out cushions. Call me crazy but I have cushions for all seasons! The fluffy, shaggy cosy ones have been well and truly packed away to make room for something more Spring like – and what says Spring more than these fab prints!
If the budget stretched to it, one way I would definitely be adding some green is with a new sofa! I have always wanted a Chesterfield and this gorgeous version in bottle green is to die for – a classic style that would be timeless in any home.
While I work on persuading the hubby that this sofa is essential to our lives, I’ll leave you with my mood board which shows how I plan to update my living room in line with this trend.
I’ll be combining greens with natural materials such as jute and raffia like this gorgeous footstool for example. I’ve built up quite a collection of belly baskets and plan on filling these with plants (of the artificial kind of course seeing as I am incapable of keeping real ones alive). I can’t get enough of Kilim cushions at the moment – this one combines the colours I already have going on in my room with some of the lovely green shade.
I’ll also be adding a few more prints and frames to my gallery wall and just love this beautiful palm print which has me dreaming of warmer climates. I’ve also been looking for something to replace an old lamp that I currently have on my bookcase, this traditional style would be perfect – I think the green and gold would really stand out against the grey of my shelves. Here’s how it’s looking so far…
So what do we think? Are you sold on green? I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you’ll be adding this trend to your homes.
